Earth Day – Litter Picking Run

The Positive Nature Network & People Planet Pint community in Exeter came together yesterday for an #EarthDay demonstration of environmental care and community spirit! 🌟

An exceptionally lovely bunch of people hit the Exeter riverbanks for a litter picking jog (hashtag#plogging), and collected a whopping 43kg of rubbish in one hour. There’s nothing quite like working together to make a place cleaner, safer and more beautiful. Wait till you see the kind of things we collected! ♻️

For this event we embraced technology for good by using the Climate Games app to track our efforts. Not only did we plant 2 trees, but we also burnt over 15,000 calories in the process! A workout with a purpose! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Huge thanks to Exeter Brewery for hosting us as we settled down for a well-deserved pie and pint πŸ₯§πŸΊ and listened to Isaac Kenyon‘s inspiring talk on sustainability leadership! 🌳

Isaac, who just ran the London Marathon dressed as a tree (yes, you read that right!), shared invaluable insights on how each of us can lead the charge for a more sustainable world. His dedication and passion are truly contagious! 🌟

We finished off the evening with a relaxed People Planet Pint event, sharing stories and getting to know likeminded people. 🍻 Thanks to Katherine Moore for organising the PPP part of the evening.

Shout out to our sponsors Stephens Scown & Gasket Guy UK for making the event possible, if you are interested in creating an event of impact for your organisation then get in touch. πŸ’š

Today was a reminder that when we all come together with a shared purpose (even just for a short time), we can achieve great things for our communities. Let’s keep the momentum going and continue to make every day Earth Day!
